About us

ALCEA S.p.A, founded in 1932 by Giovanni Parodi, still maintains the nature of an Italian company, closely run by the Parodi family who still controls the entire share capital.

Today, under the leadership of Carlo Parodi, ALCEA’ growth is represented by the Senago production site, that – thanks to its architecture and heavily automated industrial installations, created with the utmost respect for the environment and workers’ health and safety – is considered to be one of the best paint product factories in Europe.

In this context, ALCEA has been able to acquire different types of product, increasing and developing new products for the wood sector and furniture market, the coil coating sector and the electrophoresis sector.

At the same time, ALCEA continued with developing the building sales sector and the construction sector making paint products such as water paint, rustproofing paint and enamels. Later, these products were added to with a full range of waterproofing products, floor resins, and protective coatings for concrete and metal.

To promote products and help customers, the company uses highly specialised, qualified technical staff that can guarantee regular assistance and address and solve all painting issues based on their vast experience.

History

In 1932 Giovanni Parodi – a well-known constructor, set up ALCEA Azienda Lombarda Colori e Affini, in Carate Brianza.

In 1941 Mario Parodi began to work with his father in the Milan offices and took over in 1952.

An acquisitions programme began in 1979 that over the years led to the control of historical, important companies, such as Savia in the wood sector, Rivalin and F.lli Tovaglieri in the home, fire protection and naval sectors, Martino in the application sector, and MPM and Italchimica in the Civil Engineering sector.

In 1986 Carlo Parodi became the legal representative of Alcea and is still the sole administrator today.

1993 ALCEA obtains Quality Certification UNI – EN 29002 standard, issued by CERTICHIM and recognised by EQNET, with certificate no. 48.

In 2003 it opens the Senago production site.

In 2007 ALCEA opens its new offices in Poland: ALCEA POLSKA sp zo.o and in  2009 ALCEA France Eurl was established in Tournus in Burgundy. The factory has a surface area of 23,000 m2, 4000 of which is indoors.

In 2010 it takes over the Cortek technologies and brand from Akzo Nobel Coatings for the electrophoresis sector.

In 2013 Alcea opens production sites in Meduna di Livenza (TV) and Bovolone (VR), specialised in the making of lacquer varnishes to sample for the furniture market. At the same time, it sets up the ALCEA Wood division, with the aim of promoting its products.

Mission & Vision

OUR VISION

Ever since its foundation, ALCEA has chosen to work according to a balanced expansion strategy. Thanks to this choice by its founder, Giovanni Parodi, to pursue quality goals ALCEA has achieved an important size in paint product industries, while not renouncing its own policy of specialisation and technological research.

Today, ALCEA is a company present nationally with a widespread sales network of agents and dealers, and also internationally with licence contracts and distributors in Belgium, Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, India, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and United States of America.

ALCEA is a modern company with an original autoproduction system based on semi-finished products. Production is based on a system of multi-functional pigmented bases that were originally made with self-production resins finely ground with dedicated machines for each colour. These semi-finished products mixed with various types of converters produce enamels and paints that can be used in several industrial uses. The structure can thus also produce tested, certified industrial products in real time for use in sophisticated sectors such as furniture, earth-moving machinery, industrial vehicles and the electronic industry.

With its Smaltosistem® and Geocolor® systems, ALCEA offers its customers a range of more than 23,000 shades in more than one hundred products, with the same quality and repeatability as products supplied directly by ALCEA, making them manually and also using several electronic tintometer systems.

All this in a safe, clean factory that respects the environment and the people that work there.
